Brody’s Christmas Lights for Charity raises over $6,500 for the Oshkosh Kids Foundation
OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - 14-year-old Brody Enli’s Christmas light display charity, Brody’s Christmas Lights for Charity, has announced that they raised $6,737.50 from their nightly Christmas light show.
The money, along with matching donations from the U.S. Venture/Schmidt Family Foundation, will be donated to the Oshkosh Kids Foundation, which supports children and their families in finding stable housing and resources in order to live self-sufficiently. Brody also collected 147 pounds of non-perishable food items for the Oshkosh Area Food Pantry, and 243 items such as winter gloves, children’s books, and personal hygiene items, which will be distributed by the Oshkosh Area United Way’s Community Vault program.
In addition to the light show at the Enli house, Brody also designed a light display for the Oshkosh Celebration of Lights at the EAA Grounds. The Celebration of Lights gives back to many different Oshkosh-area charities.
“I chose to support the Oshkosh Kids Foundation again this year as my primary charity and to partner with the Oshkosh Area United Way because I like helping other kids”, said Brody Enli. “I appreciate the visitors who came to my show; it’s amazing how generous people were in donating money and other items to help me help kids and families in our community. I’d also like to thank Modern Rentals Inc. who provided equipment to help keep me safe during installation this year, and thank the U.S. Venture/Schmidt Family Foundation, Mike Dudzinski with RE/MAX Heritage, Kobussen Busses, Ltd and Bergstrom Automotive for helping me support such fantastic causes. I hope I was able to bring joy and smiles to all who viewed my displays.”
Brody will deliver a check to the Oshkosh Kids Foundation on January 15th at 9:00 AM at the Oshkosh Kids Foundation Tiny Houses, located at 125 Packer Avenue in Oshkosh. He will also have an event at 10:00 AM at the Oshkosh Area United Way, located at 16 Washington Ave, Oshkosh, to present the additional items that the United Way and Oshkosh Area School District will be distributing to area children and families.
Since starting Brody’s Christmas Lights for Charity in 2019, Brody has donated $19,662.15 to Oshkosh area charities. Additionally, Brody has collected over 1,300 pounds of food for the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry and 1,346 other items for children in the Oshkosh community.
