Kayla Butter

Kayla joined KOLD 13 News in June 2025 as a Reporter and is committed to getting involved in the Tucson community and telling stories that matter.

Originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Kayla graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Miami in 2025, earning a Bachelor of Science in Journalism, with a minor in Political Science.

Prior to graduation, Kayla spent time covering news on and off the University of Miami campus and contributed to multiple news shows and special at UM.

As a Fort Lauderdale native, Kayla is no stranger to the heat, but experiencing the desert of the western U.S. will be new. While she has spent most of her life living in South Florida, Kayla is excited to now call Tucson home.

When she’s not working, Kayla enjoys reading a good book, checking out local restaurants, going on a walk during sunset, spending time with family and friends, and playing the daily New York Times Sudoku.
