Brewers fans make themselves seen and heard at Tropicana Field
Milwaukee beats Tampa Bay 10-1 as fans travel to Florida for cheaper tickets
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WBAY) — Brewers fans made themselves known at Tropicana Field on Monday night. While it was technically an away game, many fans made the trip to St. Petersburg to watch the Milwaukee Brewers play in the Fall Classic because it was cheaper than getting tickets at American Family Field.
Brewers take Game 3
The Brewers beat the Tampa Bay Rays 10-1 in Game 3 of the 2026 World Series in St. Petersburg. Brewers fans saw Brandon Woodruff make his first appearance since the summer.
“It’s over. We’re going to win it at Tampa. They’re going to come home, and we’re going to enjoy the parade,” Alan Battie, of Milwaukee, said.
“It’s been a long time waiting for this to happen, and it’s so close. I mean, every year, they kept inching away, inching away. And this year, it’s happening. It’s happening,” Herica Silva, of Milwaukee, said.
Fan recalls 1982 World Series
Action 2 News anchor Emerson Lehmann was at Game 3 and met up with a fan from northeast Wisconsin who was at the 1982 World Series. The fan was in St. Petersburg cheering on the Brewers.
“I prayed for that forever. So it’s really nice,” Carl Drevs said.
Drevs said he has been a Brewers fan since he was a kid.
“I was hoping every year. I mean, I’m a Brewers fan and I’ve been a fan for, I don’t know, since when I was a kid and I’m 80 years old now,” Drevs said.
Lehmann said it felt like another home game for the Milwaukee Brewers inside the Trop.
Game 4 of the World Series is Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Tropicana Field.
If the Brewers fail to sweep the Rays, game 5 is in Florida on Wednesday, and then the series returns to American Family Field in Milwaukee for Games 6 and 7 on Friday and Saturday.
