COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX/Gray News) — A Texas high school senior died in a crash just two weeks before graduation.

Olivia Eichholz, 18, died Monday morning in a crash while driving to school.

The College Station Police Department said Eichholz was on her way to ILTexas Aggieland School when her vehicle veered into oncoming traffic.

Eichholz’s vehicle crashed into a pickup truck. She was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the pickup truck was taken to a hospital.

The crash is still under investigation.

Members of Aggieland Christian Church, which Eichholz attended, set up a fundraising page to help with funeral expenses.

“Most importantly, we ask that you please lift Olivia’s family in prayer, for comfort, peace, and strength in the days ahead,” said Alexis Kohler, a member of the church. “Olivia was just two weeks away from graduating high school and was such a bright, joyful presence who loved people deeply and brought so much life and energy to those around her.”

Eichholz leaves behind her parents, a younger sister and a younger brother.

The fundraising page said Eichholz was a dedicated Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps student and dreamed of joining the United States Air Force.

“She lived with a heart for service … She loved connecting with people from all walks of life and was learning Mandarin Chinese and Spanish so she could reach and relate to even more people,” the page reads.

The school’s founder shared a statement Monday saying Eichholz’s passing is “devastating” and that the senior was loved and respected by students and staff.
