Brewers trade Freddy Peralta to Mets for prospects
Milwaukee’s ace is on the move with one year left on his deal

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WBAY) - The Brewers are trading their ace, Freddy Peralta, to the Mets in exchange for top prospects Jett Williams and Brandon Sproat, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Peralta is about to enter the final year of his current contract. Multiple reports state that pitcher Tobias Myers is also going to the Mets in the deal, with former Brewers GM David Stearns swinging the deal for New York.
The 29-year-old starting pitcher impressed from his first day in a Brewers uniform, striking out 13 batters in his MLB debut on Mother’s Day in 2018 at Colorado.
A 2-time All-Star, Peralta was the NL wins leader last season, going 17-6 with a 2.70 ERA.
He leaves Milwaukee with a 70-42 overall record with a 3.59 ERA and 1,153 career strikeouts, registering more than 200 in each of the last three seasons.
The trade haul is headlined by Jett Williams, MLB’s #30 overall prospect.
