GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - We’re just days away from the Packers taking on the Bears in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs.
Green Bay Austin Straubel Airport is hosting a public send-off event this Friday for the team.
Fans are asked to arrive before 12:30 to cheer on the Pack as they depart for their playoff game in Chicago. Fans can make signs at a special station inside the terminal.
Dress warmly if you plan to attend and show your green and gold pride. Additionally, the Green Bay Packers and Sargento Foods are continuing their “Touchdowns for Hunger” program into the playoffs.
“We’re just thrilled to be able to continue Touchdowns for Hunger into the Post Season. We are the official cheese of the Green Bay Packers and that means if they get in the end zone, when they get in the endzone, we are going to be donating 2 thousand dollars toward hunger relief,” said Portia Young, Director of Corporate Communications at Sargento.
The initiative, now in its 23rd season, has already raised more than $1.95 million for Wisconsin Hunger Relief.
Sargento already donated $88,000 for the regular season’s 44 touchdowns this year, these funds go to Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay and the Hunger Task Force in Milwaukee.
