GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WBAY) - The Powerball jackpot continues to rise. The multistate lottery says nobody matched every number for the $1.1 billion jackpot in Monday’s drawing, so Wednesday’s prize is up to an estimated $1.25 billion.
Monday’s drawing was 23, 35, 59, 63, 68, with a Powerball of 2.
Although no one has taken the grand prize in 43 drawings, someone who bought a Powerball ticket in Grand Chute for Saturday’s drawing is going to have a richer holiday.
The Wisconsin Lottery reports a ticket sold at Kwik Trip at 3721 W. College Ave. matched four of the five numbers (1-28-31-57-58) and the Powerball (16) on Saturday, Dec. 13.
Powerball says there were 49 $50,000 winners nationwide, and the Wisconsin Lottery says three of them bought tickets in Wisconsin -- in Grand Chute, Eau Claire, and Wales.
The ticket sold at a Stop-N-Go in Wales, in Waukesha County, is worth $100,000 because it included a $1 Power Play. Only 12 of the 49 players matched the Power Play and four numbers and the Powerball.
Wisconsin Lottery winners have 180 days from the drawing to claim their winnings. The Wisconsin Lottery’s web page for prize winners says $50,000 and $100,000 winners can pick up their prize in person at the Madison or Milwaukee lottery offices or mail their ticket to Madison.
The last time somebody won the Powerball jackpot, it was worth $1.787 billion. Two tickets sold in Missouri and Texas split the prize money from the Sept. 6 drawing.
