Fox Valley Meal Prep donating 1 meal for every 1 purchased

KAUKAUNA, Wis. (WBAY) - According to the National Health Institute, food insecurity associated with poor dietary quality can cause increased risk of diet-related diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer.

It’s something one local food prep company owner had dealt with during her childhood. So, she is giving back to the community one meal at a time.

“Food should be fresh simple affordable and accessible,” said Destiny Antuna.

Antuna says growing up with a single mom, food was sometimes scarce and not always healthy. So, as the owner of Fox Valley Meal Prep, she’s made it her mission to make healthy food for an affordable price.

“We’ve been in our Kaukauna spot this year. And this is like our home base now. So, we have our full kitchen here, our store, people can pick up orders and everything from here,” said Antuna. “So, we try to keep everything fresh simple. Everything is whole food we do have some dairy free gluten free options…and hopefully in the future we’ll get more into vegetarian and vegan options and things like that.”

Starting at a community kitchen and most recently moving to their new location in Kaukauna, Antuna says they make hundreds of orders every week. But she always takes time to give back to the community.

“So, we have anywhere from 15 to 30 plus people that just order online, and we have to stock our cooler every day,” said Antuna. “If we have leftovers for the week, we’ll package it up and take it to one of the hope fridges.”

For Giving Tuesday, she donated one meal for everyone purchased, totaling 22 meals in just one day. Antuna said during the week of December 15, she wants to do it again. For every meal purchased during that week, she will donate one meal to a local community fridge. All the meals are priced under $10.

“Our mission when starting this and having the opportunity to cook for others is to make it affordable for everybody,” said Antuna.
