Teen with autism drowns during school pool party

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD/Gray News) – A teen with autism drowned during a school pool party in Tucson, Arizona last month.

According to the autopsy report from the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner, the 15-year-old drowned during a party on May 22.

The teen was found at the bottom of the pool at the deep end.

The autopsy report said no one saw it happen. The teen was reportedly not a strong swimmer, and there were no lifeguards on duty.

The cause of death was drowning with autism as a significant contributing condition, according to the medical examiner.

The death was ruled an accident.
