Father Carr’s Place 2B’s ‘Carrnival For Kids’ event brings the community together with fun and games
OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - Thousands of people from the Oshkosh community came out to Father Carr’s Place 2B on Saturday for their annual “Carrnival For Kids” event.
Over 3,000 people came out to the free event, enjoying carnival rides, inflatables, face painting, and numerous games and challenges for kids.
The event is Father Carr’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and helps fund their community Thanksgiving dinner every year.
With the help of more than 200 volunteers, including community outreach from the Oshkosh police and fire departments as well as the Army National Guard, organizers say they’re doing this to help build a community.
One kid we spoke with shared how much fun he had and how he can’t wait to tell his friends.
“I think the favorite was a pirate ship thing that’s really cool. I like it. There was like a Ferris wheel and stuff, and there’s a ninja course right there. Yeah, it’s really fun,” said Max Wall.
The event is organized by the community to provide people with something to do during the warmer season, especially for those who don’t have the opportunity to attend events like the Wisconsin State Fair.
