Wisconsin National Guard to host sendoff ceremony for more than 600 soldiers

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - Wisconsin National Guard senior leadership will join the family and friends to send off more than 600 soldiers who are being deployed.
The sendoff ceremony is set for 11:00 a.m. at the Kolf Sports Center on May 31.
The Wisconsin National Guard said in a statement that soldiers assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry Regiment and Gulf Company, 132nd Brigade Support Battalion will be formally recognized at the event as they are mobilized to active duty before departing for pre-mobilization training.
Following training, they will deploy to the U.S. Central Command area of operations where they will work with NATO partners to promote regional security and stability in the region. Officials didn’t specifically state where the soldiers are going.
The Wisconsin National Guard is comprised of more than 9,000 Soldiers and Airmen.
