Jake’s Network of Hope provides discreet hygiene products for girls
GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Serving 14 counties in Northeast Wisconsin, Jake’s Network of Hope provides valuable hygiene products for girls on their period.
These products are typically expensive, normally taxed and manufacturers are not allowed to donate for free, which is why non-profits like this step in and help
A representative with Jake’s Network of Hope said one of the number one reasons girls miss school is because they don’t have proper hygiene products for their period. Struggling with this insecurity can be embarrassing and the organization provides discreet pouches to allow the students dignity and discretion.
While discreet, these pouches look like pencil cases and include all the necessary products for one menstrual cycle. This basic needs bank provides individuals and families with thousands of products a month in order to help with them basic needs and proper hygiene through programs like We Got You Girl and On The Dot.
“So overall Jake’s Network of Hope and Kimberly Clark Eastern Wisconsin Diaper Bank along with all of our programs including on the dot distributes over 100,000 products per month to individuals and families that desperately need them in northeast Wisconsin,” said Scott Sawinski, the Executive Director at Jake’s Network of Hope.
Any schools in Northeast Wisconsin with students in need of these products are encouraged to reach out to them. Jake’s Network of Hope can set up a regular donation to get products into their school system.
