OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - The EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh is celebrating Black History Month with a new exhibit honoring the unbelievable story of the U.S. Navy’s first black naval aviator.

The new “Corsair: Korean War Heroism” exhibit highlights the story of Jesse Brown and Thomas Hudner.

On December 4, 1950, Brown was shot down behind enemy lines. Hudner, one of his squad mates, intentionally crash-landed nearby so he could save him.

While Hudner’s plane was wrecked, he and his squad flew the F4U Corsair that is now on display at the EAA Museum.
