OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - Oshkosh Area School District leaders were recently informed of new restrictions for building on the current South Park Middle School site.

Those plans were first created and adopted in March 2023 and pertain to the Wittman Regional Airport Zoning.

The district is currently working with Winnebago County officials to find possible solutions.

They say while they cannot provide any specific details at this time, they want to assure the community they’re working diligently to address these zoning constraints and its overall impact on plans for schools

The school district is still considering a referendum for April 2025. No decisions have been made yet while the school district discusses its facilities' needs.

“We remain dedicated to transparent communication and will provide updates as substantive information becomes available,” the district wrote in a statement to Action 2 News.
