OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - Former Assembly Minority Leader Gordon Hintz announced Monday he’s running for the Winnebago County Executive’s office next year.
"I’m running for County Executive to improve our quality of life and help create a stronger and more prosperous Winnebago County,” Hintz said in his announcement. “We need to hold our leaders to high standards, and demand hard work and accountability. I am determined to meet these expectations and rebuild confidence with the public, and trust with the county board. Whether you live in an urban, suburban, or rural community, I will be a county executive for everyone who calls Winnebago County home.”
Hintz, who was born and raised in Oshkosh, represented Winnebago County in the Assembly from 2007 to 2023, with four years as minority leader and three years on the Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee.
Hintz served as a Democrat. The county executive is officially a nonpartisan office.
“My administration will prioritize quality of life initiatives, carry on the important work of providing vital human services and caring for an aging population, build upon our innovative practices in our justice system while increasing public safety, promote economic development, support expanded opportunities for housing supply and work to balance fiscal responsibility with investing in our community’s critical needs,” Hintz said.
He’s currently director of the Wisconsin Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust.
He has a masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison La Follette School of Public Affairs.
