GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - There was a delay in Friday’s hearing about a lawsuit filed by the Packers Heritage Trail Foundation against the city of Green Bay. It’s over plans to move the downtown Heritage Trail Plaza for new luxury apartments.

A new judge is assigned to the case, regarding a possible injunction to block its plaza’s relocation and the hearing will likely happen later this month.

The city is working with a developer for the corner of North Washington and Cherry Streets that would include 269 apartment units, and 5,000 square feet of restaurant space at ground level and would move the bronzed plaza to a different location.

Packers Heritage Trail, Inc, says it’s maintained the downtown location for a decade and was led to believe it was permanent. It says that unless it agrees to a new location, the city will remove the plaza, store the statues, and bill them for it.

The Packers Historic Heritage Trail has 25 locations through Green Bay and De Pere.
