GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Gov. Tony Evers visited Green Bay on Tuesday on a mission to fill potholes.

This is the fourth year of the governor’s Pothole Patrol, where the governor visits cities around the state and uses a shovel and hot asphalt to help fix their streets.

The goal of the tour is to help fix Wisconsin’s roads and discuss how his administration is investing in improving roads and highways.

Since 2019, Wisconsin has improved more than 7,400 miles of roads and almost 1,800 bridges.

Tuesday was his fourth visit to Green Bay. Wearing a reflective vest and leather work gloves, the governor didn’t give up the shovel until sizable cracks at the intersection of Howard and 12th streets were filled. He also helped pat down and level the asphalt, while Mayor Eric Genrich and Public Works Director Steve Grenier watched from the sidelines.
