UW-Oshkosh earns at-large in DIII basketball tournament

OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - The NCAA Division III tournament 64-team field was announced Monday morning and UW-Oshkosh earned an at-large bid.

UW-Oshkosh (23-3) vs. Lake Forest (18-9) – Friday, March 1 at Collegeville, Minn.

Last year’s NCAA Division III National Championship runner-up, the UW-Oshkosh men’s basketball team will play its first round game on the road against Lake Forest on Friday, March 1 in Collegeville, Minn.

UW-Oshkosh lost in the WIAC tournament semifinals to UW-Stevens Point by a score of 76-56 last Thursday.

This marks the fourth straight season UWO will make a postseason appearance and ninth in school history.

Lake Forest, the Midwest Conference champion defeated St. Norbert on Saturday, 68-64 in De Pere, Wis.

The WIAC has three teams in this year’s tournament. UW-La Crosse will play St. Thomas (Minn.) in Lincoln, Nebraska on Friday. While UW-Platteville, the WIAC tournament champion, will play Capital University (Ohio) in Rock Island, Illinois.
