YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- The Green Bay women's basketball team got off to a hot start on the road against Youngstown State on Thursday night at the Beeghly Center, but the host Penguins were able to battle back and secure a 70-59 victory over the Phoenix.
Green Bay (15-8, 10-3 HL) opened the game with a 10-0 run, but YSU (19-6, 11-3 HL) battled back and lowered the deficit to a single point as the teams headed to the second quarter, 17-16.
Carly Mohns led all scorers in the matchup, pouring in a career-high 24 points and finished with a career-high seven three pointers on 11 attempts. Mohns also corralled seven rebounds and doled out two assists in 37 minutes.
Green Bay will wrap up its trip to Ohio on Sunday against Cleveland State, taking on the Vikings at the Wolstein Center with tipoff scheduled for 12 p.m. CT.
