Packers WR Clark looking to improve with experience

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - As the Packers prepare for their finale in Detroit, Davante Adams is still in the concussion protocol. He and Jordy Nelson both sat out practice again on Thursday. There will be game reps available for young wide receivers like the tall and talent, yet raw, Michael Clark. Clark had 3 catches last week, but also had several drops. He must build on the good, and fix the mistakes.

“He had some opportunities in the game,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “He made some good plays, but he made some plays that you want to see him come down with the football. He needs to make the contested catch. He is on video now so Detroit is preparing for him. They will have a plan. You see that Minnesota adjusted to him pretty quickly in the game when they moved Rhodes over to him. He is a big target and he's got twitch and I think the biggest thing in a taking a step will be making that contested catch.”

“Weather has a lot to do with playing style in game,” Clark said. “When you're in a dome, it's pretty neutral so it should balance out the miscues and a lot of timing that we had issues with outside.

“The climb has felt pretty steady for me, slowly earning trust and being in the position I'm in. Just keep on climbing, that's my whole motivation.”

Youngsters will also be called upon at the pass rushing position. Nick Perry missed practice against Thursday, though Clay Matthews was practicing and plans to play.
