MADISON (WBAY)- The Neenah Rockets made their 27th appearance in the Boys State Basketball Tournament Friday night, tying for most appearances by member schools. But they will not be taking home their 4th title. Top seeded Brookfield Central knocked off the Rockets in a Division 1 semifinal at the Kohl Center 61-47.
Neenah missed 10 of their first 11 shots from the field, but managed to come back and tie the game at 23. Central held a 26-23 lead at the half.
The Rockets fell behind again in the second half by as many as 14, before a late run cut the lead to 53-45 with over a minute to play. But the Lancers hit their free throws to hold on for the win.
Max Klesmit led the Rockets with 15 points. Jake Hablewitz and Logan Morrow each had 10. Neenah finishes the season with a 19-8 record
