GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - How sanitary is the food you eat at sporting events?
ESPN's "Outside the Lines" wanted to know and reviewed more than 16,000 food safety inspection reports from health departments that oversee 111 professional football, baseball, basketball and hockey venues across the country.
They found from 2016 to 2017, at about 28 percent of the facilities, half or more of the food service companies had a high-level violation. In other words, conditions created a risk for foodborne illness.
Where do Wisconsin stadiums rank in this study?
Out of the 111 facilities, Lambeau Field was in the bottom third, coming in at 75. It ranked 10th worst overall among NFL stadiums for violation rates.
Miller Park in Milwaukee is pretty clean. It came in at number 7 and ranked 1st overall for Major League ballparks.
The Bradley Center -- former home of the Milwaukee Bucks -- ranked 3rd best among NBA venues.
