Brewers show off newly renovated spring training facilities

PHOENIX, AZ (WBAY) - Pitchers and catchers will report to the Milwaukee Brewers newly renovated Spring Training Facility in Arizona on Wednesday but the team unveiled the new digs on Tuesday.


The facility, now called the American Family Fields of Phoenix includes a 106,000 square-foot clubhouse with locker rooms, an eight-lane batting tunnel, an agility field, new pitching and catching mounds, a new video board in the outfield plus a practice field with the same dimensions of Miller Park.

The project also made improvements to each of the seven playing fields.

The Brewers invested $60-plus million in the construction phase while the city of Phoenix is allocating $2 million each year for the next five years for renovations according to the team. The Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority will also contribute approximately $5.7 million.

Position players will report on Monday, Feb. 18 and the team will hold its first full workout on Tuesday, Feb. 19.

The Brewers Spring Training schedule consists of 34 games. The first game played at the renovated American Family Field of Phoenix will be on Tuesday, Feb. 26 against the San Diego Padres.
