Oshkosh professional women's basketball team holds first practice
The Fox Valley has added a new professional basketball team, the Wisconsin Glo. The team will feature a number of Wisconsin standouts including former Badger Jolene Anderson, Green Bay’s Julie Wojta, Mehryn Kraker and Jessica Lindstrom.
The team is a part of the Global Women’s Basketball Association (GWBA) and will play a 12-game season throughout May to July with eight home games at the Menominee Nation Arena in Oshkosh, Wis.
“I think we are all really excited -- looking forward. Most of us have played together. We've played against each other so we kind of have this all-star team feel and I think it's just going to be really fun to see what we can do with it,” former Green Bay Phoenix forward Mehryn Kraker said.
The Wisconsin Glo held its first practice on Wednesday and will play its first game will be on Friday, May 10 against the Flint Monarchs at 7 p.m. (Menominee Nation Arena)
