Appleton: 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Einstein Middle School, 324 E. Florida Ave. puts on a tribute entitled "World War I: A Centennial Commemoration." There is a free breakfast for veterans starting at 7:30 a.m. preceding the program. Veterans are invited to stay to join a Veterans Panel Discussion with 8th graders in the auditorium following the program.
Green Bay: 4 p.m. Chancellor's Veteran Reception in the Phoenix Room at UW-Green Bay, with guest speaker Rep. Mike Gallagher. Items for CARE packages will be accepted, to be given to UWGB students who are activated for military service.
All of these offers were confirmed by Action 2 News, but we recommend calling ahead, especially with restaurants, to make sure of participating locations and room for your party.
1919 Kitchen & Tap: On Friday, Nov. 9, members of the military and veterans will receive a 25 percent discount on food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Applebees: Veterans and active-duty military with proof of service can choose a free meal from a select menu on Sunday, Nov. 11.
Brown County Rifle Range: Free admission for veterans on November 11. Free gun and archery site-in from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
Carnival Cruise Line: Special savings and bonuses are available to members of the U.S. and Canadian Armed Forces. Through Monday, Nov. 12, qualified guests receive a complimentary two-category upgrade, $50 onboard credit per stateroom, and 50 percent reduced deposits on a wide range of 3- to 24-day sailings departing through 2021. Denny's: From 5 a.m. to noon on Monday, Nov. 12, active and veteran military personnel with valid military ID are invited to enjoy a free Build Your Own Grand Slam including two pancakes, and two eggs, two bacon strips or hash browns. Beverages not included, and some restrictions apply.
DigiCOPY: Through Saturday, Nov. 10, all locations are distributing free Veterans Day cards and envelopes to fill out and mail or deliver yourself.
Door County Coffee & Tea Co. - Any veteran or active military will get a bag of coffee when they stop at Door County Coffee on Sunday, Nov.11.
