APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) - The U.S. Postal Service is holding a job fair over three days next week in Green Bay.
The postal service isn't just looking for people to carry the mail.
Job openings include automotive technicians and tractor trailer operators, as well as city and rural carriers and their relief carriers, people to help with mail handling, and postmaster relief.
The job fair Green Bay is Wednesday through Friday, June 19-21, at the main post office, 300 Packerland Dr. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
A similar job fair was held in Appleton on Wednesday.
The postal service says entry level jobs include training and can lead to long-term careers.
"The postal service is very unique in that we promote from within, and there are several different career paths in the postal service, and your first step in the door is the positions that we are hiring today," said Appleton Postmaster Ryan Schulz, noting that he started in the postal service 19 years ago.
Postal officials for the Lakeland District can give you firsthand information about the jobs, answer questions, and point out positions could use your skills the most. Computers will be available to fill out applications and take online assessments at the event.
The Lakeland District of the postal service employs almost 15,000 people in Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
