Tibetan monks construct mandala sand painting

BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - This week, St. Norbert College is hosting a group of Tibetan monks.

They're creating a form of art called a "mandala", using millions of grains of sand.

The monks begin by drawing an outline of the mandala on the wooden platform. Each monk holds a traditional metal rod on its granted surface and the vibration causes the sands to flow onto the platform.

You can watch the monks working on the mandala through Friday. Closing ceremony is at 1 p.m. on Friday.

If you can not seeing it in person, you can watch online at https://www.snc.edu/millercenter/
