Three seriously hurt in Highway 45 head-on crash

FOND DU LAC COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - Three medical helicopters, along with ambulances and law enforcement officers, responded to a head-on crash on Highway 45 in Fond du Lac County Friday afternoon.

The sheriff's office says it appears a 23-year-old Wauwatosa man going south on US 45 crossed the center line near County Highway F in Osceola, between Eden and Campbellsport. He collided head-on with a car going north, driven by 66-year-old Eden man.

Both drivers and the passenger in the Wauwatosa man's car were seriously hurt and flown to hospitals in Neenah and Wauwatosa.

Crash victims typically aren't identified until families have been notified.

Highway 45 remains closed in both directions. Southbound traffic is being detoured on to County Highway W to County F, then east back to Highway 45. Northbound traffic is being detoured at County F to County W then back to Highway 45.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, Flight for Life, ThedaStar, Campbellsport ambulances and fire department, Eden Fire Department and first responders, and Fond du Lac City Ambulance.
