Suspect crashes while fleeing police after Green Bay robbery

UPDATE 7/10:

A 37-year-old Casco man has been arrested for the robbery of a Green Bay gas station.

Police say Robert Herrington was arrested with the help of the Kewaunee County Sheriff's Office.

Police say Herrington is suspected in the July 9 robbery of a Shell Gas Station at 1593 E. Mason St in Green Bay.

After the robbery, Herrington drove away and crashed a truck into a home on Elm St.

He ran off and was able to elude arrest for a short time.

“I want to thank the Kewaunee County Sheriffs Office and all the Green Bay Police Officers and Detectives that worked tirelessly to locate and arrest Mr. Herrington. This is a tribute to the hard work and dedication to rid crime from our community,” said Police Chief Andrew Smith.

Herrington is facing charges of Armed Robbery, Eluding and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owner's Consent.

He's been booked into the Brown County Jail.


Green Bay police are investigating an overnight armed robbery at Grand Central Gas Station at the corner of East Mason and Bellevue Streets.

It happened about 1:30 Monday morning.

Officers saw a truck speeding away and they chased it onto Main Street before it turned off into a neighborhood.

Officers checking the area found that the truck had crashed into the front porch of a home on Cedar Street. The suspect ran away.

The crash caused minor damage to the porch.

Officers are still searching for the suspect.

No one was hurt in the robbery or the chase.
