DE PERE, Wis. (WBAY) - The Red Cross is helping four people who lived in a De Pere home damaged by fire Wednesday night.
Fire crews were at the home on South 6th Street from 10:00 p.m. until after 2:00 a.m.
De Pere firefighters tell Action 2 News that most of he fire was contained in the walls and attic. But to get to all the flames near the attic, crews had to cut through three layers of ceiling.
They used chainsaws and other tools, but it was a lot of work. Firefighters from Green Bay, Lawrence, Ashwaubenon, Hobart, and Howard all helped fight the fire.
No one was injured.
Investigators worked at the scene early into Thanksgiving morning, trying to figure out what caused the fire.
