The death of a 6-year-old child in Forest County is being treated as a homicide, according to District Attorney Chuck Simono.

WSAW-TV in Wausau reports that sources have confirmed the child's name as Amber Perry.

On March 7, Crandon Police were called to Grant Apartments, 400 Grant St., for an unresponsive child.

Simono said the death may be "reckless or negligent" and that the child's physical condition "was not normal."

WSAW reports that Simono said there hasn't been full cooperation with the investigation.

It was not clear how long the child had been dead before emergency crews arrived at the apartment.

No arrests have been made in this case.
