Green Bay Police are investigating shots fired about an hour apart, hitting two houses on the city's west side.

The first shooting was around 10:30 Thursday night on the 1100-block of Roscoe Street. At least one bullet went into the house, striking the bedroom closet. Capt. Kevin Warych said a woman was in the bedroom at the time and described the bullet "going right by her," but she wasn't hurt. Police found shell casings in the street.

Friday morning, a woman called police after discovering bullet holes in her home on the 900-block of Christiana Street. No one was hurt. The woman told police she thought she heard fireworks around 11:30 Thursday night. Police found shell casings in the street near her home, too.

At the time of this writing, police are on the scene at Christiana Street along with a forensic team. Police say investigators will be canvassing the area.

They're trying to determine if the two shootings are related.

Warych says they need to determine if the victims were targeted. he said shootings are not often random, but, "We don't know the connection. We don't know the nexus at this point."
