Roundy's recalls soup and chili sold at soup bar due to plastic contamination

KENOSHA, Wis. (WBAY) - Wisconsin-based Roundy's Supermarkets is recalling thousands of pounds of chili and soup that may contain hard plastic.

The soup and chili were shipped to stores in Illinois and Wisconsin for sale in the soup bar area of the store.

The issue was discovered on Oct. 16, when a member of the company's food safety team notified officials that plastic had been discovered in a bag of Meat and Bean Soup in Tomato Base.

The recalls soups are "Meat and Bean Soup in Tomato Base" and "Santa Fe Style Turkey and White Chicken Chili with Beans."

There have been no reports of illness or injury from people who ate the soup.

U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service says no one should consume the recalled soup or chili. You can return it to the place of purchase.
