BROWN COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - Wisconsin health officials say recalled pre-cut melon was sold at Costco stores in Wisconsin.
Pre-cut watermelon, honeydew melon, cantaloupe and fruit medley products have been linked to an outbreak of Salmonella in other states.
Locally, the melon was sold at Costco stores in Bellevue and Grand Chute.

The recall now involves the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin. The recalled melon was distributed by Caito Foods LLC. It was sold in clear plastic clamshell containers. The company first announced the recall on June 8.
The Department of Health Services says customers should throw away the recalled melon.
There have been no illnesses related to the melon reported in Wisconsin. Health officials continue to monitor it, as there have been illnesses in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio.
Symptoms of Salmonella include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps. The symptoms form 12 to 72 after exposure.
Most people will recover without treatment. However, it can be more serious for people with weak immune systems.
