GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - The Green Bay Packers are expected to name Nathaniel Hackett their offensive coordinator, first reported by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Hackett, the former offensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars was fired on November 26, 2018 after spending the past two seasons in that position. He took over as an interim offensive coordinator in January 2016 after joining the team as a quarterbacks coach in 2015.
Hackett called plays for the Jaguars during his time as OC. In 2017, the Jaguars offense ranked sixth in the NFL and fifth in points. Last season however the Jaguars ranked 27th in total offense and struggled with Blake Bortles and Cody Kessler at quarterback.
Prior to the Jaguars, Hackett spent two seasons with the Buffalo Bills as their offensive coordinator. He’s the son of former college football and NFL coach Paul Hackett.
The Packers are indeed expected to make Nathaniel Hackett their offensive coordinator as @RapSheet said. That’s big hire to get someone w/strong offensive ties to the West coast system. He’s the son of Paul Hackett, who coincidentally was one of Mike McCarthy’s early influences— Rob Demovsky (@RobDemovsky) January 14, 2019
