Police investigate "accidental" shooting in Two Rivers

TWO RIVERS, Wis. (WBAY) - Two Rivers Police are investigating what they describe as an "accidental" shooting Tuesday night.

At about 9:06 p.m., police were called to the area of 19th St and School St for a report of a person who had fallen off a bike.

Officers found a teenage boy with a gunshot wound to the head.

"Preliminary investigation indicates the injury was accidental in nature," reads a news release from Lt. Karen Elsenpeter.

Police did not say if the gun was fired by the teen or someone else.

The boy was taken to a hospital. Police did not release his condition.

Officers are still investigating the case. They say there is no threat to the community.
