GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Paul's Pantry is celebrating 35 years of helping the Green Bay community.

The food pantry opened its doors on Valentine's Day of 1984. It was founded by Leo Frigo, the former president of Frigo Cheese.

Local dignitaries gathered at the pantry Wednesday to celebrate the milestone.

Over 35 years, Paul's Pantry has distributed more than 119 million pounds of food to people in need.

Paul's Pantry relies entirely on donations from the community. People who use the pantry are able to choose their groceries. That helps prevent waste.

Paul's Pantry is located at 1520 Leo Frigo Dr in Green Bay. Click here for the pantry's website.
