GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) -- The Packers have had historic head coaches -- Curly Lambeau, Vince Lombardi and Mike McCarthy to name a few.
Former Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Matt LaFleur becomes the 15th head coach in Green Bay Packers history
Now, Matt LaFleur must follow in their footsteps.
The new Packers head coach already has an idea of what the fans are like here in Titletown.
“Man, these fans are crazy,” LaFleur said with a smile at Wednesday's news conference. “I'm so, so blessed, so fortunate to be a part of Packer nation.”
Fans are also thrilled and optimistic about the change.
“I think he has a good chance at being an outstanding coach. We needed a good offensive one. Hopefully he gets along well with our quarterback, and hopefully we'll have a winning team,” said Stu Adair, who has been a Packers fan for 83 years.
“I think the changes are good because he brings something fresh to the offense; mainly because he's brought stuff to the Titans that they really needed and helped them succeed these past two years,” said Max Hunter, from California.
Hunter is hoping that experience will rub off on Aaron Rodgers.
“I think it would help him develop a little bit more, get him to the top of his game and maybe help the Packers succeed again,” said Hunter.
