Packers backs against wall ahead of home game

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - So much has been made of the Packers tough stretch, with 4 road games in 5 weeks. This week marks the only home game in that span. And Green Bay needs to take full advantage against the Dolphins, who have a winning 5-4 record despite ranking 28th in total offense and 26th in total defense.

“It is a cold game for them, we hope that is an advantage,” outside linebacker Nick Perry said. “But we don't look any further than that, we just are going to do what we need to do to try to get this win. Every game matters at this point. We've come up short too many times. I think everyone has that sense of urgency in the room.”

“Obviously we still have the 2nd half of the season to play,” outside linebacker Clay Matthews said. “Historically we have hit our stride in the 2nd half of the season. We can't rely on that, but with 4 losses we need to start picking it up. However you want to look at it with the NFC North, we are 1-2 game back. We are not out of it, but we need to start winning games now. You can't wait until you're in a position where you're up against it with games running out and you need to win every one.”

Right now Green Bay ranks in the middle of the pack league-wide in turnover margin at -1 midway through the season. Mike McCarthy always emphasizes that part of the game. 2 years ago there was a similar story with issues in the takeaway department before Brock Osweiler and the Texans came to town, this week Osweiler and the Dolphins come to Lambeau Field.
