OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - A very loving dog is in need of some reciprocity right now.
The Oshkosh Area Humane Society tells us they have a 7-year-old dog, named Rayna, that has diabetes.
The humane society says when Rayna arrived, she was very underweight and couldn't seem to drink enough water, and staff immediately suspected diabetes. Tests later confirmed it.
Although she'd been without treatment for some time, OAHS says she continued to wag her tail and her kisses never stopped.
OAHS says it's their mission to give every animal a chance, and this means providing the necessary medical care.
Rayna's insulin and specialty food are expensive, and staff doesn't want the costs of these needs to turn away potential adopters. They've started a "Rally for Rayna" campaign to raise money for those costs.
OAHS says so far it raised enough for almost a year's worth of food and insulin, and donations continue to be accepted at the OAHS website (CLICK HERE).
