FOX VALLEY, Wis. (WBAY) - Oscar winning actor Matthew McConaughey will be the guest of honor at the 2019 U.S. Venture Open.
McConaughey and his wife Camila are founders of the just keep livin foundation. The jkl foundation is focused on providing fitness programs at inner city schools. jkl's mission is to impart lessons on teamwork, gratitude, nutrition and community service.

U.S. Venture says the "Interstellar" star is dedicated to empowering our nation's youth, and that's why they pursued him to be the special guest.
“U.S. Venture is committed to eliminating the root causes of poverty, and this event is truly a community-wide endeavor,” said John Schmidt, CEO and president of U.S. Venture, Inc. “We are proud to welcome Matthew McConaughey whose foundation is making an impact by increasing student’s test scores, grades, and graduation rates. We know a solid education is a key indicator in breaking the cycle of poverty.”
The U.S. Venture Open is August 14. It's the single-largest one-day charitable event for ending poverty.
The outing is held at these regional golf courses: Oneida Golf and Country Club, Green Bay; North Shore Golf Club, Menasha; Thornberry Creek, Oneida; Fox Valley Golf Club, Kaukauna; Butte des Morts Country Club, Appleton; Wander Springs Golf Course, Greenleaf.
Matthew McConaughey will speak at the dinner reception for guests at Van Abel's of Hollandtown.
