NEW FRANKEN, Wis. (WBAY) - “My stomach fell to the ground,” Homeowner Holly Berkovitz said. I couldn’t believe it. It was kind of hard to imagine.”
On April 10th Holly Berkovitz received a life changing call.
“I was at work when I got the call,” Berkovitz said.
A call that her home of 4 years was being destroyed by massive flames.
Luckily no one was hurt, but Berkovitz’s three kids and two grandchildren are left with nothing because they too were living in that house.
Berkovitz’s employer, Jed’s New Stein and Grill in New Franken held a fundraiser for her Saturday.
“Holly is a very giving person,” General Manager Amy Stevenson said. “She is amazing. She would help anybody. She would be doing this same thing if it were anybody else.”
“I would like to thank everybody for everything that they have done,” said Berkovitz. “It is so greatly appreciated.”
In the bar's garage tons of donations for Berkovitz and her family pile up inside.
It’s not too late to help out you can bring a donation to Jed’s New Stein and Grill.
