GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) Crews have finished repair work on Green Bay's Mason Street bridge ahead of schedule and the bridge is back open to traffic.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says maintenance crews had planned to have the bridge closed daily through Friday, August 10, but the maintenance is already done.
Crews replaced one center lock and rehabilitated the other five. The center lock system keeps the bridge in the down position when it's closed.
Bridge work continues in northeast Wisconsin. DOT says the Michigan Street Bridge in Sturgeon Bay will be closed to traffic August 13-15 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. so crews can repaint beams damaged after getting hit by vehicles.
