MANAWA, Wis. (WBAY) - A 31-year-old Manawa man appeared in court Tuesday afternoon on charges of sexually assaulting two girls, ages 8 and 9.
Jeremy Scheulke was arrested Monday evening, according to the Manawa Police Department on suspicion of two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child under age 12 and two counts of first-degree sexual contact with a child under age 13.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman went to the police department in August to say she believed Schuelke sexually assaulted her daughters a couple weeks earlier. The girls didn't tell their mother until they found out he was going to babysit them again. They said they tried to hide from Schuelke but he kept finding them.
Investigators say Schuelke admitted touching one of the girls but couldn't remember which one. He also told investigators he's a sex addict and was drinking that night but he's "not into children."
Each of the charges carries up to 60 years in prison if convicted.
