Man sentenced to 20 years for drunk driving crash that killed two

OUTAGAMIE COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - A man convicted of killing two people in a drunk driving crash has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Joseph Konetzke, 57, appeared before a judge in Outagamie County Wednesday for a sentencing hearing.

In Dec. 2017, Konetzke was driving near Shiocton when he went through a stop sign at County M and Highway 54. Konetzke's vehicle hit a car driven by David Rosol and Hazel De Witt, both of La Grange, Ill.

Rosol, 82, and De Witt, 83, were killed.

Konetzke blew a .262 on a preliminary breath test -- more than three times the legal limit, a criminal complaint says.

In May, Konetzke was found guilty of two counts of Homicide by Intoxicated Use of a Vehicle. He had entered a "no contest" plea to the charges.

Two other counts were dismissed but read into the record.

A judge also ordered Konetzke to serve 10 years on extended supervision after his release from prison.

He will also have to complete 500 hours of community service.
