DOOR COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) - Search efforts continue for a Neenah man who went missing from Cave Point County Park in Door County.
The 57-year-old was reported missing Sunday evening after a trip to Jacksonport.
The Door County Sheriff's Office says the man had called his wife at approximately 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon to say he was taking photos at Cave Point County Park.
The wife called Door County officials at 9:16 p.m. to report that her husband failed to return home to Neenah. The Sheriff's Office says they found the man's vehicle in the Cave Point parking lot at 9:43 p.m.
Deputies searched the park and some property near a cliff along the shore. There were 7-to-8 foot waves on Lake Michigan at the time. The cliff was reported to be icy and dangerous.
The U.S. Coast Guard sent up a helicopter and launched a boat. They searched the water, but suspended operations at about 1:30 a.m.
The Sheriff's Office says the search is ongoing, but hazardous conditions on Lake Michigan are hampering their efforts.
The man's name was not released.
The Sheriff's Office does not suspect foul play.
