WITTENBERG, Wis. (WBAY) - A Wisconsin farm has an ingenious reaction to those $425 "muddy jeans" sold by Nordstrom.
Square Acre Organics, located near Wittenberg, says they have a great way to get that muddy look while saving you hundreds of dollars.
"I can save you 400 dollars!! Grab the jeans you already have and come spend a day working on the farm!! You will end up with a pair that looks very similar," reads one of Square Acre's posts on Facebook.
Nordstrom was roasted on social media and by other companies for selling the "heavily distressed" jeans at such a high price, allowing the white collar to play blue collar.
Square Acres went on to say, "In light of my last post about the Nordstroms jeans, I am proposing a fundraiser for the farm. For 100.00, I will send you a pair of jeans with authentic farm dirt on them and in your size. Any takers? I really could use a new tractor!!"
Action 2 News reached out to the farm to see if they had any takers.
"No takers but I do need a new tractor," the farm says.
Square Acres Organics describes itself as a "tiny no-till organic farm in central Wisconsin." Their main message: Support your local farmers.
