Students raise record amount at Pi Day 5K
A fundraising race with a fun math theme continues to set new records in the amount of support for the Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity.
Students at Leonardo Da Vinci School in Green Bay raised $21,693 in the school's Pi Day 5K in March.
Students helped to present a check to Habitat for Humanity Thursday afternoon.
They've bested the previous year's total every year since the Pi Day 5K began in 2015. All told, they've raised nearly $84,000 for the local Habitat chapter.
"It goes to really help us improve the community and provide opportunities to families who are looking to lay roots in Green Bay and try to make a difference, so we really appreciate events like this that help out the community," Habitat's Matt Harper said.
