MARINETTE, Wis. (WBAY) - The future USS Little Rock built at Marinette Marine completed another step in the process to be commissioned later this year.

The littoral combat ship completed its acceptance trials -- a series of five-day trials conducted in port and at sea by the Navy's Board of Inspection and Survey.

The trials are considered the last major milestone before a ship is delivered and commissioned by the Navy.

That's scheduled to happen in November in Buffalo, New York, next to its decommissioned namesake.
