OSHKOSH, Wis. (WBAY) - One of the dogs rescued from a South Korean meat farm and brought to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society is now available for adoption.

The shelter began letting "Gus" visit with people Thursday. Visits are on a limited basis so the dog doesn't become overwhelmed.
The OAHS says on its Facebook page that Gus has made a lot of progress since coming to Oshkosh. He can be skittish but is playing with "some of his trusted people" and shows a love for soft, squeaky toys.
The dogs brought to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society earlier this month were kept in deplorable conditions on a farm in South Korea, where they were raised for meat to be used in traditional soups.
The other two dogs, named Leo and Callie, are still being socialized.
Anyone interested in adopting Gus can call the humane society's adoption counselors at (920) 424-2128.
They recommend children in the home should be over the age of 12.
